I wanted this lantern for multiple reasons. I’ve had the OG UCO candle lantern for years and use it to wick moisture from my tent while winter backpacking and camping. I wanted to test if this lantern would actually boil water in a lidded pot.. check my YouTube video to see the results. My only complaint is, it’s a bummer there aren’t standard candles that can fit in it, so it can be expensive to use frequently, but it does add a nice ambiance, and emits enough warmth to keep your hands toasty if you can’t build a fire.
I’ve got two of these three candle lanterns. Use them to warm my small office and enjoy the perk for the holidays. I got tired of tossing out the three wick scentless candle glass, maybe these are cheaper approach. I got a gimmick of putting a soda can full of water on the top, gets up to 120-140F, just a mean to try and catch and store the heat. Now the cleaning part I don’t get. At home I got a process, but if camping I don’t get this. I use the hot water in the can to remove the stuck wax, because most the time it gets in the way of adding a new candle. On rare occasions the candle makes a mess that needs deep cleaning. So I VERY CAUTIOUSLY use very hot water and a little dish soap to clear the stuck wax at home. I cannot imagine how they replace candles while camping or during an outage, no good guidance I found posted on best ways to clean.
I have the single candle version of this. I haven’t used this one yet, but I’m sure it’s going to be just as great and much brighter than the single candle version.

I love this lantern! It’s apart of my emergency roadside kit, and I take it out frequently because I use it for everything! I would highly recommend it.
