There’s nothing like sweet rewards after outdoor play—and what better way to cool down than with homemade Cookies & Cream ice cream? Using the UCO Ice Cream Ball, this recipe is as fun to make as it is to eat. I created this with my son, and he had an absolute blast rolling the ball around, checking on the ice cream, and—of course—eating every last bite once it was ready. Whether you’re at camp, in the backyard, or hanging with friends at the park, this no-electricity-needed dessert brings the chill and the smiles. Bonus: you get to burn off a little energy while making it!
Ingredients (Ice Cream Base):

1 pint half-and-half or heavy cream- I personally recommend heavy cream as it will freeze faster.

1½ tsp vanilla extract

⅓ cup + 2 Tbsp sugar
- 3 oz of Mint patties- we used Seely 1 oz individually wrapped Mint Patties from wholefoods but any will work fine! You can add more or less to your liking.
Additionally you will need ice and rock salt. You can guesstimate these to be 2 cups of rock salt and a bag of ice from the grocery store! You will have plenty of ice leftover:)
Instructions:

Prepare the Ice Cream Base:
In a mixing bowl or large measuring cup, combine the half-and-half, vanilla, and sugar. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved. -
Load the UCO Ice Cream Ball:

Pour the ice cream mixture into the metal canister of the UCO Ice Cream Ball.

Add your crushed mint patties and stir gently to combine.

Secure the lid tightly.

Add Ice & Salt:

Fill the outer chamber of the ball with ice and ½ cup of rock salt.

Secure the outer lid.

Roll & Play:
Shake, roll, or toss the ball around for about 20 minutes. Then open the ice cream compartment and stir the mixture. -
Refill & Finish:
Add more ice and salt to the outer chamber if needed. Close it up and roll for another 10 minutes, or until your ice cream reaches the desired consistency. -
Enjoy!
Scoop and serve straight from the canister. Mint Patty magic in every bite!
Pro tip: For extra crunch, reserve a few crushed cookies to sprinkle on top before serving.
